Everything's a lie, is there any hope at all?
So, it's been 3 years on my path, and after countless hours of studying and testing everything, much like many of you here, I've come to realize that many of those 'courses' and 'gurus' on YouTube, who try to promote and sell their products, seem to lack accurate and substantial content. Their advice often feels unreliable or poorly thought out, with too much emphasis on upselling to premium content.
Even if some methods may offer temporary success, they don't seem to align with how real trading floor professionals and investment bankers operate. Ex-Goldman Sachs trader Anton Kreil has provided what I believe to be the most accurate explanation of why most traders fail.
I’ve reached a point of significant frustration, realizing that many online resources fall short of providing valuable information, with too many seeming to overly enjoy the spotlight without delivering real insights. My question is simple, yet perhaps difficult to answer: Is there any source out there where I can study genuinely effective trading strategies? Are retail traders simply left with subpar information?
Please don't suggest topics like risk management and psychology. My approach to trading has become very methodical and detached from emotion, not just because I was humbled, but because I'm genuinely seeking efficacy over sentiment. From an educational standpoint, I'm looking for material that truly educates without wasting time. Is there any hope for finding genuinely useful resources? Any reliable material or foundational guidelines out there?"

Suggestion regarding Leaderboard
The leader board should be reset every two weeks or every month, only then other people would get a fair chance to be on top.

What do look for when staring at charts?
Most people from different forums suggest to stare at live chart for thousands of hours to learn price action.
My questing is what to look for in the charts?

I used to think the 1-2% rule was a psyop to make beginners risk less. Boy was I wrong
There’s profitability in the short term (months) and profitability in the long term (years).
Crazy stuff can happen, and one instance can drastically F you over.
Minimize risk.
Heck, work at a prop firm if you have to. TTP is a good one for stocks.

I hit profitability, but I am now done.
After 3 years I am now profitable, but after a lot of thought I've decided to just stop trading and focus on other things.
A few reasons really.
The stress is incredible, even when you're profitable, I noticed a few grey hairs sprouted up in the past 3 years, and I don't think that's good for my long term health.
It's hard to enjoy your day when you're red or broke rules. Its genuinely disheartening, and hurts your soul sometimes. I could be out with my family and the entire time I am angry at myself for taking a hasty trade.
I don't see going full time as even possible, I work from home so my paycheck covers my expenses, but if this was my sole income the stress would be doubled than what it already is, and that would affect your trading and making the outcome so much worse.
Don't let my post discourage you from attempting this profession, but I wanted to talk about the things very few people talk about.
We all love to talk about the "30 minute work day" but none of the downsides.
Even when profitable, and I know the math will check out in the end it's still extremely taxing.

Checkout the latest new story about the bogus Rabby Wallet on Apple app store. There have been cases, with one individual losing almost $5000.
Apparently the app's been active for quiet a while, even after numerous people reported it to Apple.
Do your due diligence guys before using apps you haven't used before. Look for legit reviews and check the official handles of the related apps.

Should I pull out of the market?
Had almost 40k in stocks at the beginning of the 2023. Currently sitting at 17k and it seems there is no sign of slowing the bleeding. Looking for advice on what to do. I don't really need the money right now so was considering riding the wave but at this point the wave might be a few years out. Do I pull out and wait for things to stabilize? Keep putting money in on the way down? Or just store extra at this point in cash?
This money was going to be for a house down payment but that is looking unrealistic now too due to the insane prices that are not really coming down in my area.

Quit Six-Figure Job to Trade Full Time
Today, I quit my six-figure job and started my journey as a full-time trader. I wanted to share with you all how I prepared for this before taking the leap.
Traded everyday for almost 5 years. Started before the pandemic back in June 2019.
I wouldn't consider myself profitable, but close enough to comfortably leave my job.
Saved 3-5 years worth of expenses. Yes, 3 to 5 years of expenses covered! Probably longer if I really wanted to live frugally. This helps ease my mind while trading; not having to worry about finances.
I trade strictly ES futures and have been trading this for 2 out of the 5 years total. Currently with an online prop firm for futures.
My daily routine is to wake up at 5:30, desk by 6:30 (west coast). I only trade for 3 to 4 hours max, so I have the rest of the day off. I work out every day, but all this free time does get a bit boring, so I have thought about getting an easy part-time job to fill some of the hours.
I am all in on making it as a trader. There is no quitting for me, it’s either I make it or I die, whichever comes first. Got 5 years in and ready for another 5 + years. Keep at it y’all let’s make it happen.

Are we all just dumb?
Zoom stock was all time highs during COVID-19 and the vast majority of people - including me - didn't short it???
The chart is so obvious - it's not even hindsight but just like basic common sense.
Of course their revenue is gonna go up when everyone is remote - and OF COURSE IT'S GOING TO GO DOWN WHEN REMOTE ENDS?!?!!
This is like the silliest misses ever - I'm not even that big into stock trading but now years later I feel like the world's biggest dunce.
It's like there's a stock that only gets sales on the fourth of July and I didn't short it and just watch it crash on the fifth and realize 2 years later.

Getting out of the market is never a good idea
I used to think that getting out of the market (meaning liquidating your long positions into cash) was a good idea if you feel the market as a whole is overvalued. But what ive realized over the past years is that this makes you subject to 'market timing' which has been known to not work. No one can time the markets, if they could they'd be crorepatis. Waiting for a market correction or a crash so you can buy companies at excellent bargains seems tempting but you run the risk of losing out on opportunities that are available now, even in bull markets.
Also cash has a very low rate of return, so keeping cash means you don't even beat inflation at those rates.
